(New York, NY) – The triennial gathering of the General Convention of the Episcopal Church in July is providing the ideal launch platform and showcase for some impressive new resources from Church Publishing Incorporated (CPI), which will be exhibiting in Booth 208-210 throughout the 10-day conference in Indianapolis.

CPI is unveiling a new exhibit at General Convention which will feature live demonstrations by CPI staff of its latest digital resources, including some CPI’s more than 300 active eBook titles, plus the riteseries online and Living the Good News Online.  CPI staff will also demonstrate its new line of eHymnals and downloadable studies including Faith & Nature:  the Divine Adventure of Life on Earth by Phyllis Strupp, and To Serve and Guard the Earth, God’s Creation Story and Our Environmental Concern by Beth Bojarski.  Church Publishing’s Editorial Director Nancy Bryan will be making a special presentation titled Liturgical Resources for the Digital Age on July 9 as part of new Power Sessions series being sponsored at General Convention by Church Pension Group, CPI’s parent company.

Several CPI publications are helping to inform the discussion around various issues and resolutions being developed at General Convention and will all be displayed and for sale there. Some of these titles include The Blue Book 2012 Report to General Convention; Holy Women, Holy Men; Christian Holiness & Human Sexuality; Shared Governance: the Polity of the Episcopal Church (compiled by the House of Deputies Special Study Committee), and the Transforming series of books for the Episcopal Church, including Transforming Leadership by Katherine Tyler-Scott.

A unique key ring with flash drive will be given away by CPI while supplies last, allowing recipients to take home a briefcase full of resources in a shirt pocket.  The flash drive includes a complete eBook edition of Ubuntu by Michael Battle – the theme title of the 2009 and 2012 General Conventions – plus sample lessons of various curriculum and other valuable resources.  Daily drawings for free prizes from the booth will include Cooking for a Healthy Church (published in partnership with the Episcopal Medical Trust), the 2012-2013 Christian Planning Calendar, and the Embracing an Adult Faith DVD & Guide by Marcus Borg – the first in a series of what has become very popular and fast-selling church studies that simulate small-group interaction with internationally known scholars and religious commentators.

Cokesbury, CPI’s retail partner and official bookseller, will be among the largest exhibitors at the 2012 General Convention and is honoring Deputies and Bishops for their work with a complimentary commemorative book bag imprinted with the Five Marks of Mission of the Episcopal Church.
