Book About Supernatural Encounter Released in Spanish Language
NASHVILLE, May 17, 2012 /Christian Newswire/ — Whitaker House Publishing has released the Spanish version of the critically-acclaimed book Face to Face with God by Jim Maxim. Whitaker House also plans to translate the book into the Urdu (Pakistan) language later this year. The book tells the true story of Maxim’s supernatural experience after a devastating car crash shattered his face and nearly took his life. Lying in critical condition in the hospital, Jim was confronted by the personal demons that plagued his life and then found himself face-to-face with Jesus. After a long recovery, Maxim reemerged a changed man, giving up his addictions to alcohol and drugs. “I wrote this book for people like the old me who may feel like ‘lost causes,'” Maxim said. “I’m living proof God answers prayer, and that absolutely no one is beyond His reach.”
Maxim has become a sought-after speaker recently joining his friend Herbert Lusk, pastor and former Philadelphia Eagles running back, when they spoke at a New York Pastors Retreat earlier this year. Maxim shared the stage last fall with Prison Fellowship‘s founder, the late Chuck Colson, at a correctional facility in Minnesota. Maxim continues to speak at various prisons across the country and plans to minister to men in several Mexico prisons later this year. Maxim has been asked by Prison Fellowship to speak to their entire U.S. staff in the coming weeks.
Maxim founded Acts 413 Ministries to promote corporate prayer in the worldwide church body. Acts 413 will host the Expect Church Leadership Conference on July 12 in Philadelphia. Pastors Jim Cymbala, Gary Wilkerson, and Tony Evans are scheduled to speak. That same evening, the 2nd Annual Delaware Valley Prayer Gathering will take place featuring the Brooklyn Tabernacle singers along with Pastor Cymbala. The first Prayer Gathering event held last summer by Acts 413 was attended by nearly 3000 pastors and lay leaders in the Philadelphia area.
Maxim is founder and president of Maxim Automotive and MaximTrak Technologies which helps automotive retailers manage and improve profitability and compliance. Maxim serves on the boards of various ministries including People for People and World Impact and is the chair of The Hope Center, an inner-city crisis pregnancy center. Maxim also works with various mission organizations in Africa, ministering to both pastors and children.
