Trent Franks Backs Martha McSally in 2nd District Conservative leader calls McSally “exact kind of principled fighter we need in Congress”
Tucson – Arizona Congressman Trent Franks today announced his endorsement of Col. (ret) Martha McSally in the race for Southern Arizona’s new 2nd Congressional District. McSally, the first woman to fly a fighter in combat and command a fighter squadron in U.S. history.
“Martha McSally is the exact kind of principled fighter we need in Congress,” said Congressman Trent Franks. “Martha is right on the issues and will stay strong in the face of Washington special interests and represent the people of Arizona’s 2nd Congressional District. Martha has my trust and has my support.”
After retiring from the Air Force, McSally served as a Professor of National Security Studies at the George C. Marshall Center where she mentored senior government and military leaders from around the globe on the principles of democracy, capitalism and international security. She is a Distinguished Graduate of the United States Air Force Academy and has earned Masters Degrees from the JFK School of Government and the U.S. Air War College.
“Congressman Franks is a great conservative leader and I am humbled to have his support,” McSally said. “He serves as an example to every member of Congress of how to lead with integrity and humility while fighting for the values that we as Americans hold dear. I look forward to joining Congressman Franks in Washington next January so we can fight together for the heart of this Nation.”
